This article offers a contextualised examination of whether Xi Jinping Thought, the latest rendition Marxism-Leninism that functions as China’s ideology, has made political system more sustainable. By scrutinising Xi’s speeches and writings since he came to power in 2012, we demonstrate his vision is premised on modifying consultative Leninism, post-Deng Xiaoping framework, with strongman rule. intended revitalise Chinese Communist Party Leninist instrument deliver comprehensive leadership, upgrade economy, Sinicise Marxism, nurture party-centric nationalism, enhance legitimacy claim global leadership world stage.
